Joseph Connell and Barnacles, 1961
Young ecologist Joseph Connell was working on a PhD with C.M.Yonge sat Glasgow University. He, without the knowledge of Yonge, embarked on a side study (his main work was on barnacle predators) on competition in barnacles. An early part this this study involved doing transects, just have you have. here are his results for adults (on a rock wall on the Isle of Cumbrae, off Scotland):

The letters refer to tidal levels, MHWS (Mean High Water of Springs, as high as the tide gets) on the left and MLWS (Mean Low Water of Springs, as low as it gets) on the right. How do the data from your transect compare with Connell's?
Finally, you can see what I got for the transect you have done of Cable Bay here.
